About the Awards

The Awards were launched in 2008 with the following main aims and objectives:

  • Raise the profile of paraplanners and the important role they play within financial planning and financial advice.
  • Improve technical standards within the profession within a competitive environment.
  • Lay the foundations for a professional, recognised paraplanner qualification.
  • Encourage young professionals who wish to make financial planning their career.
  • Congratulate and reward those who are paraplanning’s established and rising stars.

The Awards are being promoted jointly with the Institute of Financial Planning to further increase its support for paraplanners.  The IFP Annual Conference & Exhibition 2009 will, for the second year running, include a dedicated track for paraplanners and also feature the announcement of the winner and the presentation of the Award.

The Award

This year’s awards will take a slightly different route to those we ran last year.  This year there will be a single prize for the person who the judges consider to be The Paraplanner of the Year.

The award is open to employed paraplanners as well as those working in a freelance or outsourced role.
