About the Awards

The Award was launched in 2008 and is the ultimate award for all paraplanners, whatever your experience and knowledge.

The Award is designed to take account of the very broad range of skill levels and abilities paraplanners have and to make sure that all entrants have a good chance of success whatever their level.

Entries for the 2011 award are now being accepted with prizes including £1,000 in cash, a full pass and accommodation at the IFP Conference in October and an iPad 2.

There are 3 parts to the award again this year;

  • a technical section which is much more about knowing where to find information rather than knowing the information yourself – an essential skill for paraplanners;
  • a report writing section – again an essential skill for paraplanners; and
  • a final section which allows an IFA of financial planner you work with to submit a recommendation outlining why you should be crowned Paraplanner of the Year.

    The Awards are being promoted jointly with the Institute of Financial Planning to further increase its support for paraplanners.  The IFP Annual Conference & Exhibition 2010 will feature the announcement of the winner and the presentation of the Award.

    The Awards

    This year there will be a prize for the person who the judges consider to be The Paraplanner of the Year with a separate award for the paraplanner (other than the main award winner) achieving the highest score in the technical assessment.

    The awards are open to employed paraplanners as well as those working in a freelance or outsourced role.
